APPGM - SDG

Institut Penyelidikan dan Pengurusan Kemiskinan (InsPeK) Universiti Malaysia Kelantan (UMK) telah diberikan kepercayaan untuk mengetuai projek penyelidikan awal oleh Kumpulan Rentas Parti Parlimen Malaysia berkaitan Matlamat Pembangunan Lestari (All-Party Parliamentary Group Malaysia on Sustainable Development Goal- APPGM-SDG) untuk meneliti isu berkaitan SDGs dalam Jajahan Jeli, Kelantan Malaysia.

Selain pakar InsPeK UMK terlibat dalam projek ini, kajian ini turut disertai oleh pasukan penyelidik dari pelbagai agensi, iaitu Universiti Islam Antarabangsa Malaysia (UIA), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), Unit Perancangan Ekonomi, Jabatan Perdana Menteri (EPU JPM), Institute of Strategic and International Studies (ISIS), World Wildlife Fund (WWF) dan Angkatan Belia Islam Malaysia (ABIM).

Projek APPGM-SDG memfokuskan pada elemen SDGs dan keperluan kepada pelaksanaan projek pembinaan kapasiti di komuniti kelak. Projek APPGM-SDG dilaksanakan di 7 parlimen di seluruh Malaysia, dan khusus di Kelantan, Jeli telah dipilih. Empat kampung terpilih di Jeli menjadi perhatian kajian ini, Kampung Sungai Rual (Kampung Orang Asli), Kampung Air Chanal, Kampung Legeh dan Kampung Jerimbong.

Tujuh (7) fokus SDGs yang diperhatikan dalam projek ini, iaitu 1) Goal 1: No Poverty, 2) Goal 4. Quality education, 3) Goal 6. Clean water and sanitation, 4) Goal 8. Decent work and economic growth, 5) Goal 9. Industrial innovation and infrastructure, 6) Goal 12. Responsible Consumption & Production, dan 7) Goal 17. Partnerships for the goals.

Hasil dari projek ini mencadangkan lima projek pembinaan kapasiti yang boleh dilaksanakan dalam tempoh jangka pendek, iaitu 1) Tanaman cendawan, 2) InoProduct, 3) Ekopelancongan, 4) Penternakan ikan keli, dan 5) Perundingan komuniti. Tiga daripada projek yang dicadangkan adalah dalam kluster perusahaan sosial. Cadangan projek ini dijangkakan dapat menyelesaikan isu jangka pendek berkaitan SDGs yang dihadapi oleh komuniti di Jeli.

Institute for Poverty Research and Management (InsPeK) from Universiti Malaysia Kelantan (UMK) has been assigned to lead a preliminary research project funded by the All-Party Parliamentary Group Malaysia-Sustainable Development Goals (APPGM-SDG). This project  will enable InsPeK, UMK to disclose several issues related to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) lies in Jeli district of Kelantan.

The collaborative project involves sociological and technological experts from UMK and research teams of from various agencies and higher institutions such as International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), Economic Planning Unit, Prime Minister's Department (EPU JPM), Institute of Strategic and International Studies (ISIS), World Wildlife Fund (WWF) and Malaysian Islamic Youth Movement (ABIM).

The APPGM-SDG project focuses on various SDGs which is delivered through capacity building projects in communities. The APPGM-SDG project is conducted in seven parliaments all over the country including the Parliament of Jeli, Kelantan.. Four villages in the Parliament of Jeli are selected that are Kampung Sungai Rual (Kampung Orang Asli), Kampung Air Chanal, Kampung Legeh and Kampung Jerimbong.

Seven SDGs and thematic issues observed in this project include 1) Goal 1: Poverty No, 2) Goal 4. Quality education, 3) Goal 6. Clean water and sanitation, 4) Goal 8. Decent work and economic growth, 5) Goal 9. Industrial innovation and infrastructure, 6) Goal 12. Responsible Consumption & Production, and 7) Goal 17. Partnerships for the goals.

The output from the project has come up with five exemplary capacity building projects namely 1) Mushroom Cultivation, 2) InoProduct, 3) Ecotourism, 4) Catfish project, and 5) community consultation which will be implemented within several months. Mushroom Cultivation, InoProduct and Ecotourism projects are grouped into innovative social entreprise project.

The proposed projects  are expected to resolve short-term issues related to SDGs faced by the   community in Jeli, Kelantan.
