
APRIL 21, 2026 | TUESDAY - PANGKOR COMMUNITY VISIT TO THE InsPeK PROJECT IN TUMPAT, KELANTAN
The Institute for Research and Poverty Management (InsPeK), Universiti Malaysia Kelantan (UMK), has hosted a special visit by the Pangkor Community for a benchmark visit to several high-impact InsPeK projects in Tumpat, Kelantan.
This visit involves the I-Spa Pangkor Project and the Community Social Action Project through the Micro Economy Hub: Inclusive Studies in Pangkor Island (i-HEKIP). During the visit, the participants were taken to view various community development initiatives, including the Madrasah Home-Based Bread Project at the Tahfiz Umm Halimah Madrasah, which focuses on improving the socioeconomics of the asnaf group, the Barakah Valley Program as a social enterprise hub for processing downstream products, the Greenhouse Glass Dryer Project, Kedai Kak Yah Budu Tempayan, and the Solar Dryer Project.
The organization of this visit aims to provide direct exposure to the successful model of community development, while also injecting inspiration, increasing interest, and enhancing the well-being of the community in Pangkor through the adoption of best practices.
